Good news for The River Thurne, Hickling Broad and Horsey Mere
Friday, July 25th, 2008 at 8:17 am by Nigel HannantA huge relief for The River Thurne, Hickling Broad, Horsey Mere and also the two Martham Broads as they are not at the moment affected by the deadly algae prymnesium.
Thankfully levels are still below those which can cause a threat to fish stocks yet the situation is being monitored. Local anglers can help and anyone who spots dead, dying or distressed fish are asked to call the Environment Agency emergency line on 0800 80 70 60 as soon as they can.
