Another Fun Session at Walnut Farm Fisheries

I returned to Walnut Farm Fisheries last night for another short evening session, and despite it being a little cooler, the extra hours of daylight provided a slightly longer session. I wanted to see if I could increase my hook rate, as at my last visit I seemed to lose more than I landed.
This time I fished closer in and waited for the fish to gain confidence on the free floaters before I dropped mine in. Success! This time I managed to hook into, and land 3 Carp, 2 common and 1 mirror. They were all to about 2-3lbs and put up a very good account of themselves. I don’t know what the strength of the rod is, but it certainly bends well.
I then decided to try ledgering with a pellet, feeding smaller pellets on top. The bites were frantic and I landed a couple of super Chub, if I had bothered to get the scales one would certainly have been a new personal best. But Chub out of a still water does not seem right somehow.
I think I have got the hang of The Canal now and I need another challenge. I am going to try the Back Lake next and see what that brings me.
If you have fished The Canal at Walnut Farm Fisheries, I would love to hear of your experiences, please share them below in the comments box.
