Big Fish in Norfolk!

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008 at 10:28 pm by Nigel Hannant

There have been very big catches recently in Norfolk venues! Waveney Valley Lakes, Burgh Castle Fisheries and Swangey Lakes are all on top form and producing fish, at the moment, I can only dream of.

A Catfish over 37lb and a Carp over 30lb were hauled from Waveney Valley Lakes, Yew Tree Lake to be precise. Burgh Castle Fisheries also provided David Howes with a Carp over 34lb.

Not to be outdone, though maybe by a few pounds, Swangey Lakes has seen Carp to 29lb falling to the regulars on the fishery.

It just goes to show, Norfolk is the place for quality coarse fish to specimen sizes!

Hi, i am quite new to fishing and spend a lot of time learning from my brother inlaw. We recently went to Fendicks Lakes near Thetford for an night session. At 6.30am after having lost a couple of giant bites i managed to pull in my first ever Catfish, 25 minuets of fighting got me a 36lb 6oz cat, not bad for my first time.

    Hi John.

Thanks for dropping by to share that. I have never caught a Catfish, and this one sounds awesome for a first time!

    Cheers, Nigel
