Swangey Lakes Fishing Well - Advice Wanted

Saturday, May 23rd, 2009 at 10:34 am by Nigel Hannant

I read with interest that Swangey Lakes is fishing well, this is one venue I would really like to try out. Has anyone got any experience of the place they would like to share?

My interest would only be an evening session at best, so no camping out for days on end for me.

Hi - I have not fished there yet however I have had a good look round (easy to get to down the A11 nr Snetterton) as you drive in the lake on the left is fishing very well for Bream mainly groundbait feeder with the usual bream bait work and caster. A good tip is to use a fishmeal groundbait it really draws them in. I will be fishing there for some evening sessions next week.

I know that matches have had weigh ins of 150lb plus of bream to 9lbs

I have not fished there for many years and it really depends what you want.

If it is a hot evening, on the main lake stalking is the best way to go and the nearest end tends to be shallower and easier to spot fish moving.

The next lake on the right hand side is better for more sport, and still has fish to around 20 ish (if memory is correct).
