JMP Tackle can be found on a busy little industrial estate close to Attleborough. It appears to sit in between a lawn mower unit and another unit for fixing cars, in some ways it does seem to be a little out of keeping situated here, but don’t let its location put you off.
It is not the biggest fishing tackle shop I have ever visited, or offer the fullest range of gear, but it does offer all the basics in spades. The atmosphere was a little quiet, and it did remind me a little of a library where I was afraid to make any noise. However, Mike, who I can only assume is the ‘M’ in JMP was very helpful when asked. He well informed of what he had to offer and more than keen to show me what I was looking for and offer his advice.
I think it mostly caters for the coarse fishing fraternity, but I did see a few flies hanging around, and not those that buzz! Talking of flies, fresh bait is on offer in the form of maggots and the like and a number of stocked freezers appeared to hold a good supply of frozen dead baits for Pike and predator fishing.
I was looking for a variety of items, from braid scissors to floaters and all were in stock and available. I cannot comment on the price as I have not visited enough other tackle shops yet, but it seemed reasonable and saved the postafe of items for ordered online.
There is a good display of local fishing attractions in the entrance and other things to do in Norfolk.
Day tickets can also be purchased for Walnut Farm Fisheries, however these are also easily obtained on the bank.
This is a very convenient tackle shop for anglers living close to either Wymondham or Attleborough, and I can see this is one tackle shop I will be visiting on a regular basis.
