Hell might be a bit extreme for the bag, but not for the smell!
This is the one item of my fishing gear that is actually in my possession. I did not think I could store this up in my in laws loft, they would have wondered exactly what I was storing up there.
I finally ventured a look inside today, the first time since 21st July 2004. (The last time I went fishing). It was certainly opened with some trepidation, and with me trying to keep my nose as far away as possible from the grand opening.
To be fair it actually wasn’t that bad, I was fortunate there was a good breeze today! It did reveal some old favourites that I last used to catch Tench at Bawburgh Lakes: Halibut boilies; Worm oil spray; Halibut pellets. They were all in very good condition, with no mould and still firm. I have no idea if they could still be used, but the increased scent might act as a good attractant.
I am pleased to find these old baits, as it does prove that at least I have some fishing experience, and I am not a total fishing fraud!
So this brings me another step closer to returning to the bank, though I will invest in some fresher bait as well. I have always been a fan of sweetcorn, though I don’t know how popular it is anymore. Also we have some compost bins with some great Tiger Worms in and a few of these might just make it into a bait box for my first fishing trip.
Now I need to get the fishing gear!
Sweetcorn is sooo 80′s!! The fish just simply won’t stand for it anymore.
